I had been asked to respond to 4 questions about a video on copywright. I will link the video at the bottom for anyone who would like to watch it, just a warning though, its 1 hour and 27 minutes. My inital thoughts about copywright was pretty basic, dont illigally download something or use something that has been trade marked. After watching this video i think completely differently and I know copyright is way more than that. I would like to say I am a copyleft, mainly because I feel like if you want to create something but then whenever someone uses it anywhere else then there will be a lot less publicity than if you let people put your creations everywhere. The thing is with copyleft is that its a bit too open and you should be able to add your own rules to it, for example, no taking the creation and claiming it as yours, thats just theft. Media production is the making of anything that can be viewed on the media, for example, a youtube video, or a drawing you post on instagram. Wheras Media consumption is information and entertainment media that has been taken. The production side of things is where you make the media where as the opposite is the consumption side. In VAM I believe we should be able to use whatever we like for our school projects as long as we do not post it anywhere, for example on this website. Like I said at the beginning, here is the link to the video: https://youtu.be/quO_Dzm4rnk

Let's be honest, we all have made a goal at least once, whether it was for school, for work, or even for personal activities. Goals are pretty hard to achieve mainly because of the pressure mixed with a deadline and a lot of procrastination. Well, I have made two and I would love to share my story and my goals with you. Honestly, I’m the worst at maintaining my goals and not procrastinating in doing it, but I will still try as hard as I can!
I am going along the S.M.A.R.T goal way, and I had to make two goals, one of which is for my art academy and the other is just for personal reasons. A lot of people are choosing stuff like “I want to get better at drawing” or “I want to be perfect at painting” but I have decided to make my goal a little different. I want to learn how to animate. No matter how silly that sounds it's been a dream of mine since I was little. I plan to achieve this by first just trying my best to research animating and apps I could use to animate, but my dilemma is that I need something like a drawing Ipad to use but alas, I don’t have one. I will have to start using my old Ipad to draw and hopefully, if I don't procrastinate and forget, I will practice my animating every second day for about an hour. My goal for this goal (hah) is even if the semester ends I want to try and continue to work on it for the rest of the year. When we were told to make a personal goal my first thought was “oh no” because if I made a goal and it was not school related I will 99% fail at keeping the goal and actually doing it. I mean I have things to do like art commissions and scrolling on my phone! Those things are important! But alas, I chose a goal. My personal goal for this year is to research all the makeup styles I can and try and perfect them mainly because my dream job is to become a makeup artist, but I don't know how long that dream is going to last due to COVID and wearing face masks. Most likely I will be using my mom and friends as my test subjects for putting makeup on someone else other than myself. I will be making a checklist of all the different styles and practicing maybe on the weekends when I have time. In the end, I know that I most likely won't finish these goals but I will try my best to attempt to finish them. If I do finish them it will be a giant benefit for when I am searching for a job in the Visual Arts division. The word goal is still scary but I will attempt to conquer it. |
